Today I’m wondering what it takes for a black man to be regarded as human in America.

Today Richard Sherman is being lambasted for his animated post-game interview in which he dared to express emotion outside of the cubic centimeter men of color are allotted. A cornerback in one of the most physically demanding sports in the country—after a game in which bodies were injured and crushed; after a game that required players to be helped off the field—wins a critical game and has a microphone stuck in his face. He says what he says, and suddenly the nation is clutching its pearls, tutting and making pretend-concerned remarks about sportsmanship and graciousness. Today, Tom Brady criticizes Richard Sherman for his lack of “graciousness.” Today, Richard Sherman is being called a thug, and I’m wondering what that word really means.

Does it mean foul-mouthed? After all, Tom Brady was never called…

This week I have been reading,  The Shack by WM. Paul Young. This book is mordern version of WWJD (what would Jesus Do). This book speaks on an issue plaguing the Body of Christ and just human beings: relationship.

So what have I learned from all this?  I have learned that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all God. The are equally powerful with equal authority. I have learned that God, from the beginning of time, has been trying to establish a relationship with man.

Relationship is so important.  Do unto others as you would have done unto you.  Love your neighbor as yourself.  When an individual is fulfilled in Christ, he or she is free to enjoy relationships with others without expecting something in return.  He/She is not looking for you to take them out or sex them in (yes I know how that sounds).  He/She is not asking what kind of car you drive or what you do for a living (usually these questions are asked, not for information, but to see if you can provide enough security). When a person is fulfilled in Christ these things matter not.

I’ve heard that Christ is more interested in saving us from harm than keeping us from “fun.”  Speaking of “fun”, here meaning sin. You want to know something crazy?  We are so conditioned to sin that it kills us and we do not feel it. It’s like when you do something wrong for the first time.  At first, it bothers you, but the more you do it, the better you feel about it.  Sin is its on punishment.  Sin robs you of life, peace, age, and more importantly, relationship.

What is true love?  Is it the gushy stuff…or is it making decisions for and with someone that is best for both people.  Or better yet, what is Christ idea of love?

Ummm…..

Hello World!!

I have decided to reconnect with my Lord; (Why do you call me Lord and not keep my commandments.) however, I will approach the relationship differently.  The approach will mean: reading the bible…I want to know and understand the Trinity.  Each part of the Trinity (which is three) has a particular responsibility/purpose.  I want to learn each part/Trinity-person.

My intent is to take you through this journey with me. I will express my thoughts, fears, and emotions no matter how private.
